Hey!  Just read about "Oz", the Spanish lama recognized by the Dalai Lama.  There is a media frenzy because he's not taking the traditional path but is into film etc.  www.fpmt.org/teachers/osel   Another tulku who has made films ("The Cup", "Travellers & Magicians") is Khyentse Norbu Rinpoche.  They are great films & teachings at the same time.  That's sort of what I'm trying to do with my songs...I offer them to Adzom Rinpoche for the benefit of all beings...

Can you believe it? We did it! Thanks to the millions of smart voters & campaign contributors & workers...Barack & Roll! Now we can have a president who governs out of compassion rather than lies... Meanwhile, wrote "If I Were You" & maybe something else. Hard to keep up with myself sometimes. If I ever get organized, I'll be dangerous. Haha.

I've got some new songs. (Where do they come from?) Latest is "Over", a breakup song but also with hints of all things must pass. But without impermanence there is no enlightenment. Before that I wrote "Newspaper Taxi" which is a day in the life of me, featuring the mantra Om Ah Hung Benzra Guru Padme Siddhi Hung & the line "it's all good in the neighborhood". Unfortunately, on the economy level the greedy are still screwing the needy. May all beings become generous!

Saw Ammachi here in Albuquerque for 5 days. Pure love--unlimited energy. Stayed up all night the last night, which is the only time I can do it all year, with Amma's inspiration. New song is called "Let it All Go": "does anybody know how to let it all go?" Practice a little every day, right?

Big changes in the world: Tibet, China, Burma...Working on a poem called "Psychlone" about how the main disaster on earth is the greed, hatred & stupidity in the human mind that obscure our Buddha nature...Also, will soon record my global warming song on a DVD & start performing in Albuquerque and environs...Just saw the wonderful teacher, Anyen Rinpoche again (see links)...Thanks for helping; may all beings be happy!

It's been one moon since my last entry. No new songs to report, although I'm thinking about "350" since I saw Bill McKibben last week. 350 parts per million CO2 is what we've got to shoot for, fast, if we want to avert catastrophe. We're at 385 now & going up...Bill wrote "The End of Nature", the first warning on warming, in 1989...We can do it (350) if we can get Obama in there...

Yes, I have a couple new ones. "I'm Good" as in "No thanks, I'm good..." talking to my TV set. And "In a Dream". This one woke me up one morning with a bass line & a dream that was almost lucid (i.e. I was almost aware I was dreaming during the dream). Later in the day the lyrics started coming together. The point: there could be another awakening, from this dream of life & death...

Yeah, I went to Texas to see my lama & all I got was this lousy mala. Haha. It was beautiful. He said he had great hope for "Precious Human Lifetime" after I played it for him. Wow... Vajrasattva came alive for me & 130 others. Long drive but well worth it. Next year he's coming to NM.
